The 2025 Mitsubishi L200 (Triton) is a heavy-duty Midsize Pickup Truck. This new “sixth-generation” model is a complete redesign, featuring a much tougher, squared-off look, a more powerful engine, and a vastly improved interior that feels more like an SUV than a work truck.

Performance & Capability

  • Engine: 2.4L MIVEC Twin-Turbo Diesel (4N16)
  • Fuel Type: Diesel
  • Power: ~201 hp (150 kW)
  • Torque: 347 lb-ft (470 Nm)
  • Transmission: 6-Speed Automatic or 6-Speed Manual
  • Drive: Super Select 4WD-II (with 7 terrain modes) The 2026 model features a new high-tensile steel ladder-frame chassis that increases rigidity by 60%, allowing for a massive 3,500 kg (7,716 lbs) towing capacity.

Comfort & Practicality

The cabin has been completely overhauled with a “horizontal axis” design that makes it easier to see out of while off-roading. It features a 9-inch infotainment screen with wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto and a 7-inch digital driver display. The seats have been redesigned with better lower-back support, and the interior materials are much higher quality than the previous work-focused generations.

Safety & Features

Safety is a huge leap forward for the 2025 model. It includes:

  • Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)
  • Forward Collision Mitigation (FCM)
  • Blind Spot Warning (BSW) and Lane Departure Prevention
  • Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA)
  • Active Yaw Control (AYC), which helps the truck corner more safely by braking the inside wheels slightly.

Design & Utility

The “Beast Mode” design concept gives the 2025 L200 a massive, vertical front grille and widened fender flares. The cargo bed is lower (820 mm from the ground) to make loading heavy gear easier, and the door handles are larger so they can be operated while wearing work gloves.
